The rubber covers on flame-resistant belts are anti-static and fire-resistant per international requirements. Specially blended neoprene and SBR prevent belt-wide fires. The belts meet Indian Standard IS 1891 Part V and CSA Standard CAN/CSA-M-422-M87 Grade. Static conductive, drum-tested for friction, heat and wear resistant, and appropriate for -30 to +50 degrees.

Hygienic food-grade conveyor belts have these features:

  • FDA-Approved Materials: These conveyor belts are usually made of FDA-approved food-contact materials. Food-grade rubber, polyurethane, and plastic are common.
  • Food-grade conveyor belts have smooth, non-porous surfaces that are easy to clean and do not retain food particles or impurities. This reduces germs and cross-contamination.
  • Chemical and Cleaning Agent Resistant: These belts can endure frequent cleaning and sanitization with food-safe cleaners without degrading.
  • Resistance to high temperatures: Food processing commonly occurs at high temperatures. Food-grade conveyor belts should not stretch or degrade under these conditions.
  • Foods with oils and fats are oil and grease resistant. Such conveyor belts are resistant to various contaminants to prevent damage and ensure food safety.
  • Some food-grade conveyor belts are treated with antimicrobials to prevent mold, bacteria, and other pathogens.
  • Easy to Clean: Hygienic conveyor belts are simple to clean. They should enable disassembly and cleaning and sanitation in hard-to-reach locations.
  • Smooth Belt Joints: Conveyor belt joints should avoid contamination-accumulating fissures. This usually involves welded or thermoplastic belts.
  • Compliance with Industry Standards: Food-grade conveyor belts should meet FSMA and EFSA standards and certifications.
  • Customization: Belt width, length, cleat and sidewall design, and other aspects can be adjusted for food processing.
  • Low Friction and Noise: Conveyor belts should run softly to reduce food contamination and belt damage.
  • For easy maintenance and cleaning, some food-grade conveyor systems have rapid, tool-free belt changeovers.

Thermal power plants, mining, coal handling, timber, paper & pulp, sugar & food, recycling, and chemical & fertilizer plants employ FR belts. These belts are customized for the buyer.
